The moment of truth

When eyes are closed and sleep comes by

In the moment of awakening when dreams die

When truth finds its way from the heart to the eye

And when reality can reach beyond the sky

When amidst all the strength fear finds its way

And even closing these eyes wouldn't take the fear away

When the face of joy people put up everyday

Loses itself and desperation finds despair.

When lying to self isn't a choice to make

And truth finds its way and nothing it as stake

When lost souls find their way to the unreal burial

And where even the surreal is more than real.

A state where asleep or awake isn't a question

A time where emotions are their only reason

A moment where happiness comes ever so smooth

That moment is my only moment of truth.

Standing at the end of life

Standing at the end of life
Still hoping to make through the strife
Waking every morning with a smile
Taking each day in an unprecedented style
Opening those eyes to a bitter reality
Still living a life far away from actuality
Escaping to where beauty knows no bounds
Making way once again into this ugly town
One fine morning the sun didn't shine
Those eyes opened to see the darkness inside
They seemed to believe it's them going blind
Still shunning reality for the fear of fright.
Swimming under water and flying in the skies
Admired my people and never despised
Yeah! living in a world built within lies
Playing mind games with their very own eyes
Ignorant to the idea of what's wrong what's right
Refusing to acknowledge their very own plight
When eventually they turned to look inside
They realised truth had confronted them in disguise...Standing at the end of life

Models and Mortals

In an age where 20 is the new forty and size 0 is the new size 8, are the so called "normal" measures obsolete?

The dynamics of the world are fast changing and forever evolving. Models today have walked off the covers of magazines and actually started hinting a presence in our lives. What is startling is that they can so easily come and define new boundaries and standards in our lives. The good old days of looking at them at magazine covers and putting them away as soon as boyfriend entered the room are gone.

Over the years they have grown in numbers and now are easy to access and spot. You can see them all the more when you go out with your girlfriends to catch a drink and meet a few guys. This over-exposure to the fashion world has taken some perfectly cute and decent guys and turned them into a whole new breed called 'modelizers'. These men date only models.

The effect of this on women is shocking. Single, smart, successful, intelligent and beautiful women are actually threatened by models. With the competition bar raised so high they wonder if they can compete. The question here is not whether they can or cannot compete but the creation of a new standard. Is smart, successful, confident, independent not enough for your CV?

I attended a dinner party last night at Wagamamas, a fairly relaxed Japanese and Oriental restaurant. Most of my girlfriends ate a fresh garden salad with no cheese or dressing. Unlike most of the guys sitting across us at the table I knew it was abnormal to eat that. Through the course of the meal each one complained to me about how either their thighs were too big or their wrist was too large and might i add none of these girls would have been over a size 10.

All this makes me wonder if men are really worth it and my honest opinion is NO. How long can they be wooed by size 0 figures? and if they are they are not worth your while.
